Working out when to organise each aspect of your wedding can get so confusing it can make your head spin! Here's how to manage your valuable time:
- First, sit down and take some time to think and talk with your partner about what you both want for your big day. Compromise, communicate, and have compassion.
- Write lists. Tick things off and give yourself a big pat on the back when you complete a task. If you hate writing lists, use our wedding checklist and wedding preparations time line. You might also find the duties of the wedding party list and the popular wedding songs list helpful when it comes to delegation and organisation.
- Organise, organise, organise. The more organised you are, the less time you waste looking for lost items or wondering what you did with the phone number of that great florist.
- For her wedding preparations, my sister kept a folder with plastic sleeves in it, which she filled with pictures and contact details and pieces of inspiration she got from magazines. This is not anal retentive and weird like I told my sister. (Though her colour coding each aspect of the wedding - green for flowers, yellow for cakes, may be a little on the hard core side of organised) A wedding folder or scrapbook is actually a great idea. All of your wedding concepts are easy to see and in the one spot.
- Share the load. You are not superman or wonder woman. You are human. Ask for help.
